Digital Tools to Assist ELL and Struggling Readers

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

There are many digital tools that are being developed and refined to assist our struggling reading and ELL student populations. This session will focus on a few dynamic free digital tools that can transform the teaching and learning in the classroom. Utilizing these digital tools gives students ownership of their learning.
One tool we will focus on is Microsoft’s Immersive Reader. It is a digital tool that assists with reading comprehension, encourages independent reading, and is embedded in many online resources like Office 365, Canvas, BrainPOP, Microsoft Edge, and OneNote. We will explore other tools like Microsoft/Google Translate apps, screen readers, and resources like PATINS Project to assist in and out of the classroom.
